Their staff was less an knowledgeable about the vehicle they were working on and I decided it was time to look elsewhere. My story started with buying my 2008 Acadia from my Mom. My Mom had minor issues along the way with the car, but they were always taken care of. The vehicle had only 67,000 miles on it. Within 1 month of purchasing the vehicle, the transmission went bad. I brought the vehicle into the Dekalb Sycamore dealership where it was always serviced. Within seconds I was introduced to Bill Lamb. Bill listened to the story, and I never, not even for a second, had a doubt in my mind that he was going to take care of me and my car. After looking through the computer for a moment, he had discovered that the vehicle was still under the powertrain warranty, that the vehicle was current on service, and that my mother had recently bought a new Cadilac from the dealership. For all these reasons, he treated me like a very valued customer, and even acknowledged me as the original owner of the vehicle since it was still in the family. The vehicle was brought in on a Saturday. On Saturday night he called with news that they had determined there was a transmission failure. Bill told me he would continue with updates until the vehicle was fixed, and gave me an estimate of when the car would be finished. On Monday afternoon, he called with news that the parts were ordered, and confirmed that the vehicle would be covered under warranty and removed a huge weight off my chest. On Tuesday afternoon, he updated me once again and let me know they were on track to finish the vehicle before Thursday. On Wednesday morning, Bill called and let me know the finishing touches were being put on the vehicle and that it would be ready to pick up soon. Later that morning, Bill confirmed that the vehicle was ready to pick up and told me it was a pleasure. He confirmed that GM had picked up the bill and all I would owe for was an oil change that I had also requested. He explained to me all the repair that was done and put my mind at ease that I wouldnt have the same problem again in the future. As before, I'm definitely pleased and impressed again with the excellent service and friedly staff at DeKalb Chevrolet. Just to give an example, I had left my sunroof open when I dropped off my vehicle. They had obviously closed it before the complimentary car wash (after the service) and then opened it back up as it was when I left it. I have worked with Mike Mooney for 25 years of more and have ALWAYS found him to be the most caring and concerned person. He dos not sell us a car, but tries to help us get along in life with wise choices in vehicles. I have referred many church members to him, even though we were more than an hour and a half away.
